I wouldn't advise this. You don't want to anger someone who's there to help you. If you do this you could run the risk of being dropped from the DEP.

I have a 4 year old son and he doesn't comprehend what being a Marine is. So when I hear, "I've wanted be a Marine since I was 3" i usually know to be ready to hear some BS.

Your recruiter should advise you on what to say and what not say. Ask him how to handle it. Follow his orders, EXACTLY how he tells you.

I 1000% agree. When I joined I went open because I was more concerned about being a Marine than the job.

If you feel like you can make it through the Recon pipeline, go for it. It's a very competitive job though so UZ contracts are hard to come by.
