The big thing with pullups is consistency. about a month ago I couldn't do a single pullup(pathetic I know).. but after doing negatives, assisted, and lat pull downs I can do 5 now after just a few...

If I remember correctly Gardner was at bootcamp for several weeks but was eventually sent home for medical reasons.(hes trying to go back)

So he would know more then the average poolee.

Keep working bro, 8.5 lbs is a good start. Just keep working at it, you've got plenty of time. I am excited to see your continued progress.

Oh and by the way, you will probably get a bunch of crap from everyone you know for wanting to be a Marine especially because you aren't fit right now. Use that as fuel- prove every doubter wrong.

There is no way to figure out other then talking to your recruiter. Just be straight with him and don't BS around it..
