Good Luck RI - The advice I will give is this...when you crunch the numbers, 15K does't make that big of a difference in your initial payment. What I learned was that what I started with as my initial payment kept going up as my escrow account went up due to changes to insurance and the higher property taxes. My property taxes rose as the value of my home rose and also there has been two changes to my tax rate since I took out my mortgage. Try to somehow estimate what your future escrow account will be and you will have better numbers to base your decision on.

Its in the 70's this morning but still dark but its going to be a good day with chance of rain.
Just had a tomato sandwich for breakfast with a rice crispy treat afterward.
Just have a small job today and no other work this week so far, hope some comes in.
Going to spend the day in the barn and around the horses.
It was good to chat with Bulkyker last night in the Chat room and reading his response to Cowboy Up.
Purple can't imagine why you didn't make JAG's birthday a GREAT one. (He's still breathing isn't he?)

Mornin all, Storms on the perimeter, staying under cover till I can communicate with the CP and find out if I have patrol today. High around 82 and scattered t-storms. No Breakfast yet but heading to the chow hall from here to rustle up some grub. I think maybe a two egg omelette with left over grilled steak, green onions, cheese, and topped with Tostitos cheese sauce, and Coffee of course. You all take care. I found some Pepper-Jack cheese in the Deli at our local Publix store. I had forgotten how good it goes with eggs and HAM! Just started my SECOND pot of MUD, and WILL NOT put skim milk in it!!! Does anyone know if there are Poolee git' togethers here in the Tampa Bay area??? Maybe I'll go to the local recruiter's office, and see what's up. Good morning, Marines. Sam had me up at 0430 and made sure I got my PT in after feeding him. He may be able to make a career out of it.

Spoke with some lenders, figured out what has to happen on my end first. We'll see in the next couple of weeks. Coffee is brewed, just waiting to pour. Breakfast is in my head; it's already delicious.

Thinking about putting Vista on my desktop. With all the sh1t I do to it the copy of XP I have on there just isn't cutting the mustard. Great, something else to budget.

It was in the 80's yesterday and beautiful, had a nice walk, having a baby in a sling adds enough to get me breathing heavier. Should be nice today. Prayers outbound.

NoRe make sure the lap top has the hard drive to handle Vista. I believe it needs 2 gigabites. But not sure. Have heard of people trying to upgrade to Vista, only to have their computers crash because of lack of memorie.

Well, radar shows the storms moving east into Minnesota. I guess i will get my tired arse dressed and go to work. SF

NoRemorse-- my 2 cents on Vista.
First, this is what I have been doing as a living for 11 years now, though I have been deep into computers since the early 80's. I'm a Network Administrator in a mid size engineering firm.
Here at work, we have 6 sites in two states - about 400 computers and 6 server farms. We have test run Vista and there was no way we were going to upgrade to it. Some of us, myself included, are running systems at home with Vista. At home I am running 1 Vista, 3 XP-Pro and a server on my home network. Don't ask, I get paid for doing it.
If you are very comfortable with computers, well, then maybe. But you really should know how to "get under the hood". What Microsoft did was say "we know how to make a one size fits all operating system"... and when Vista fires up, it loads more "C*AP" than you would believe.
The next version, Windows 7, is, to my understanding, actually going to look and feel a lot like the old Windows 98!. We are getting ready to test the current W-7 Release Candidate on a few select system just for Ha Ha's.
Again, I'd hold off. W-7 is being released to the public FIRST and that's supposed to happen in October. If I get any more info, I'll be sure to let you know.

Ditto on the thanks for sharing. The issue is that the system I've got is an HP that came with Vista, we rolled back the drivers to XP after we installed XP pro on it. I'm not going on another hardware hunt to find other peripherals with better driver support.

I thought Dells were bad, this is my first roll back from a Vista base. It's rough going. Was a nice clean install and ran smooth for a while but after loading up the basics a few months later she runs like crap. The kernel takes over 30 seconds to load the calculator app that comes with XP. Explorer crashes or freezes on a regular basis. I'm a master of the full-wipe game at this point but I'm tired of it.

My wife hasn't had to wipe her Vista installation (it got even better since the Service Pack was released) and she's got a laptop to boot. i'm running a quadcore on my desktop that's going to waste (admittedly, it's going to continue to go to waste anyway) so I figured since it was built for Vista I might get a more stable platform and not have to wipe the hard drive every year.

Did I mention I've got about 5 hard drives, and two of them in external enclosures just because of issues like this? Hot swaps save me so much time that I slapped myself for not figuring that out years ago.

Ok, back to morning chow, had sausage and peppers today. Still tweaking the recipe. Wife made the pork chops and scalloped potatoes yesterday. Gotta buy more spices so I can replenish our stock of rub.

Morning all. Been up for awhile. Decided to fix a breakfast burrito for the wife and I this morning. All that talk about Tex Mex breakfast in this thread got my mouth to watering. My grandson got back from Orlando yesterday afternoon. He joined up with the Army National Guard several months back. They asked at DisneyWorld if his step-father had a military ID. My grandson said he did and they gave him 50% everything this past week. I'm talking the whole family..his step-father, mother, brother, step-sister, and himself. Not bad for a kid who doesn't go to boot camp for 3 more weeks. Everyone have a great day.
