Had a Doc/buddy ask me a really interesting question, on Friday...in group. I think that it's been talked about here, before...."we share the comradeship, of our Viet Nam combat experience, but if we hadn't been there, would we be friends??" MY OPINION...since Viet Nam, I've had a LOT of acquaintances, and only a FEW real friends that give back what I give them....support, shared interests, and the ability to accept each other, just as we are. Been told that men "bond" differently than women...like cowboys, and Marines do. SOOO....the answer is YES, I don't care where you're from, what religion, what education, or what "class" you might be...I don't give a SH!T!! I try VERY hard to keep a REAL friendship...even though either one of us might act like an AZZHOLE...now and then...I can accept you, just like you accept me...with all of OUR faults!!....THAT'S FRIENDSHIP!!! Had a wierd dream last night, been thinking about it for hours, finally decided to share it.
Buddy aka redman1 decides to have a cookout at his place for everyone here. DocGreek calls me and says he'll pick me up, I tell him it's a 22 hour drive from Florida to Rhode Island. "no problem" he says, I'll be there in 20 minutes, I got Nitrous- Oxide in my new Mustang. On the way we stop in New York to pick up Ray aka NoRemorse and his wife, she gets the front seat because she is pregnant. We arrive at Buddy and Karens place.
Everyone is there, handshakes and hugs for everyone, it's Wonderful!!! Rays wife goes into labor and Doc delivers a beautiful baby boy. Buddy lets everyone ride the Horses except for me, I get the Pony because I am from the City. I'm all excited and I get on the Pony. I fall off the Pony. I wake up and I'm on my bedroom floor.
WOW!!!
3 things I'm thinking. 1. Thats what Heavens going to be like !!!. 2. No more late night Taco Bell for me !!! 3. Did that really happen???.
Can't decide right now so I have to get over to Buddys "Cowboy Up" Thread and see ( but I'm Kinda Scared To ).
Damn Pony :).
I'm really Hoping it's # 1 on the list!!!.

Doc, Jim, Redman, Friends forever along with all the rest. You all know who you are. Jim, my wife is tickled I have this site to let off steam and chat with everyone. I'm a bit of a hermit, and prefer being alone to crowded events. But here I feel like I belong. No breakfast yet, maybe pigs in a blanket (pancake wrapped sausage). Went to the Ren Festival yesterday. To windy and damp to wear my Marine Corps Kilt, but had fun anyway. Ran into the Father of a Marine while there. Told him about this site, and said he and his son were welcome here any time.Quote:

When I was married to my "last" wife, we went to a couple of counseling sessions at the Vet Center. She told the counselor that when I got home from a group meeting, I was always in bad shape. At the time, I was posting on TWS, and she told me to STOP!! It was making me..."ALOOF"...whatever that is!...A GOOF...maybe! One year later, after 15 years of marriage....we got divorced. SOOOOO....it was the BEST thing I'd done....in 20 YEARS!! Learned lot's of "lessons"!! NO COMPLAINTS...at LEAST 13 years of a VERY GOOD relationship, and I am STILL willing to accept 50% of the blame. I was a drunk, and a lost soul for a long time. Vet Center, and VA counseling really did change my view of who I am, and where I CAN go. One day at a time...for ever....SEMPER FI....DOC

Good afternoon, Marines. Breakfast was... a fvcking jelly donut!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Then I drove to the pool and drownproofed myself. Gonna saute some veggies and throw them in a vodka sauce over some fettucine for dinner. Nice and simple and quick. Not planning on much today besides walking the dog for a bit.

Cooked up a few brats and scrambled eggs for me and the wife this morning. Lunch I made us a couple of chicken salad wraps. She just left for work so here I am with my other family.
