Two Beef and Bean extra hot burritos smothered in Pace Picante Sauce have met their demise as of 0400 this morning. Just starting the second pot of Walmart's finest Columbian Coffee, with a banana for desert. Have a glorious late winter day y-all, SF
Good morning all. Knee deep in coffee. 50 something degrees going down to 29. Breakfast was so-so, dinner will be ribs slathered in a home-made sauce.
I've come to the conclusion that incompetent people are paid more than I am. Isn't it like that everywhere?
God bless the Marine Corps!
Semper Fi.

Morning all, woke up to 35 degrees suppose to get up to around 60 today, which is good because yasterday we had straight line winds clocked at 50 MPH. It's going to take me half a day to clean up all the limbs and debris in the yard.
Good to se y'all here today! Blessings!
Good Morning Marines!
Ramon,
We had civilians in my USMC office when I was in. Couldn't fire them unless they were an absolute mess, and even then it was a terrific process....Unions.
This one woman was promoted very often, because that was the only way they could get her out of each office and quit screwing things up. It was easier to suggest that she get a new job ( elsewhere ) than it was to fight the union and document all the BS it would take to get rid of her. She was a super nice woman, but her work skills SUCKED!
That is the irony of Civil Service.
As a current Civil Servant and current Union member, I'm glad to be where I'm at now - it's nearly impossible to screw it up. Being a former manager in a construction / cabling company who had to manage employees who were union members, I've seen both side of it.

I'm in limbo. We're a hospital that receives state funding but are no longer run by the county. As such we're all members of the CSEA, are hired through the county, and work for the corporation. We're semi-private, rely on state funds and are downsizing because of a 70 million dollar shortfall from the state.
Amazing since the state reported over 15 billion in Medicaid fraud alone. The incompetents are deeply entrenched, uncredentialed, unqualified, and in the news for some scandal or another. A-friggen-mazing. If you're "in" you're untouchable. Guys like you and me and the rest of the Marines on the site would be punished for our high level of performance and our exacting standards. We also like to call bullsh!t on people when necessary. Bosses around here don't like that. :scared:
I'm looking to find a job in Connecticut. Downstate New York and the City hold little allure for me at this point. Most of the people suck, the county government is bloated, and I'm tired of all the BS. CT has its issues but it takes better care of its veterans and is 1/6th the size of NY. See ya on the flip side of the chili bowl.

I know what you mean Ramon. I did a thre month contract for the local phone company. They are private but were a govt corp a few years earlier. So they still had the govt management structure. I counted once and me an another worket bee had 24 people that had input on what our tasks were.
Coffee is up. Doc's regulur breakfast sounds like a winner to me!
When I was NCOIC for the Camp Lejuene Ammo depot in 1977, we had two civilians working in the inventory office. Ammo Techs are trained to do that job, They were like GS-9s or 10s. Sat on their azzes all day and did nada. One was driveing a Lincoln Contenental Diamond Jubilee. We're making base pay, working our azzes off, driving used cars, and these guys we're living high eating at the Civil Servant trough. Doesn't surprise me, nothins changed in 31 years. SF
MORNING MEN AND LADYS well its 30 outside and its supose to rain and mayby snow here in kansas but that still remains to been seen going to make a run to pick up some repo's today and hoping still to here from that other job they said they wanted me but haven't heard from them yet . a man could get old waiting hahahaha Semper Fi I'm out
Mornin Bill and all you other jarheads, 18 heading to 25 today. Gotta love that global warming. Jimmy Dean entre for Breakfast. Finally got some sleep last night. Took some TylenolPM and washed it down with a couple of srewdrivers. Talk about comas. Wow! One minute I'm on here, the next I'm waking up on the couch. But I slept at least 6 hours. SF
Good morning, Marines. Breakfast was coffee from Dunkin Doodoo and Cream of Wheat... Yeah, it's something at least.
Been up since 3am. The dog ran out and played with the puppies across the street around 2100. Yeah, three pit bulls playing in the wind, recipe for destruction. They had a good time and we got to laugh and BS. Took the dog back in and he decides he needs to start whining and shifting around at 3 in the friggen morning. He's out of the bed, he's back in, he's under the covers, he's curled up against me.
I took him out thinking he's got to crap and he's running around with a limp tail. Friggen awesome, dog! Either they all played too rough or he got it stuck in the steps. Couldn't find a break or dislocation... couldn't find sleep either. It's going to be an outstanding day. You could be mean as hell and snorting fire but the pooch gets hurt and ya tend to turn soft... go figure...
Have a good day, Marines!
