"Born to Kill"
What I wrote down, in the cover of my diary in July of 1967, a popular saying of that time...
"For those who have fought for it, Life has a flavor the protected will never know."
Remeber those and have that last one in my note book too.
One I remember on a lot of lighters was
USMC
the
VietCong
for lunch
bunch
and the ever popular
Fighters by day
Lovers by night
Drunkards by choice
Marines by Profession
and in the same line
There are three things a Marine
must do in his lifetime.
Fight,
Die, and get drunk.
But by GOD I'll Crawl home
like a Marine.
I do remember a lot of peace symbols on the helmets.
One saying I do remember is "We Got to Get Out of this Place"..
popular song...when I was there..
I didn't wear a helmet, I wore my rain hat...
but this pic below I did see on some...
Sempers,
Roger
