Old Marine New to Site
I ran across this site when googling "pogey bait" to see if it is still used. I found it so interesting that I signed up. Looks like it still is.
The next thread I saw was an old one about the sobriquet "pi$$ cutter", applied to the cap. When I enlisted (Sept. 1952), we were issued a green one, a cotton khaki one, and a tropical worsted one, along with a barracks cap with a green cover. In Korea, with our winter gear, we were issued a cap with furry ear flaps tied on top that we called "Mongolian pi$$ cutters".
