Recon Contract. Preparing For Boot Camp/MART/BRC

I did a search and didn't find quite what I was looking for.

I leave for Boot Camp on Sept. 17th with the Recon Contract. My recruiter did a pretty thorough job of explaining to me everything that I needed to know but I a few more questions.

1.If I don't qualify Expert Rifleman in Boot Camp is that the end of the line for my recon contract or can I still qualify in SOI?

2. I am pretty "fit" (17 pull-ups, 109 sit ups, 18:21 3 mile, 68 QUALITY pushups) As far as swimming goes, I've always been comfortable in the water and I know that's not enough, I plan on being in the pool training 6 times a week as soon as I have access to a decent pool in Killeen. What I'm asking for I guess is just advice. Any workouts in or out of the pool that would help. I know that Recon is the hardest training the Marine Corps has to offer but its what I want and I want to be as prepared for it as possible.
