Legality of financial counseling worksheets?

Good evening Marines,

Today, my division was directed to do an all hands financial counseling worksheet. Word is, the CO is possibly making it mandatory unit wide, and the SNCO's want to get ahead of the game. I can understand that the CO has power enough to justify just about any invasion of privacy, but do my SNCO's have the right to demand information about my personal finances? I have a clean security clearance, and have never had any financial issues.

Furthermore, I've been directed to collect and review the financial worksheets my junior Marines fill out. How can I ask them to disclose that information if it's not lawful?

Consult with a Judge Advocate on base, and if there isn't one, some larger base that does have a JAG office.
