Recently received a copy of my Military Record, and have a question about the VSM. I have three line items with three different dates.
VSM w/1* Aug 1967
VSM w/2* Jan 1968
VSM w/3* May 1969
Is this 6 stars or 3 stars, total????
Trying to clarify. Thanks in advance for any info.

The way I read it, 3 stars... but if you did a total of 3 tours.. A full year per tour then it would be 6..
You get a star for each of these listed campaigns..
- Vietnam Advisory 1962-1965
- Vietnam Defense 1965
- Vietnam Counteroffensive 1965-1966
- Vietnam Phase II 1966 - 1967
- Vietnam Counteroffensive Phase III 1967-1968

- Vietnam Counteroffensive Phase VI 1968-1969
- Tet 69 Counteroffensive 1969
- Vietnam Summer-Fall 1969
- Vietnam Winter-Spring 1970
- Sanctuary Counteroffensive 1970
