    Ahoy there, Nate.

Sorry about not getting back to you sooner. I got so much flak on this site for wanting to join the Corps, I hadn't checked it in a while.

I would welcome any info you might posses, right now I am trying to get a DD form 293 going to change the Narration on my DD 214 from "Conscientious Objector" to "Other" and I HOPE it will work. But I have ABSOLUTELY no idea if it will.

It is good to hear a friendly voice on this site for once though. As for my relationship with God, you must understand that at the time of the initial push, and the ensuing madness afterwards...we were basically being jerks, not defenders of the peace. The number of civilian casualties were staggering for a good Christian boy like me, and I had just lost a Staff Sergent from my National Guard unit that I had been involantarally separated from. It's a long story.

I live in Northern California with the hippies and the drug addicts, it's been a fun sabbatical, but I'm SO ready to get a new Military career going.

    Please e-mail me at artwallis@gmail.com

I can't remember my PMI. Recruit training was a blur as it was. I'm lucky I can still remember I went to Parris Island.

I was a 2531 field radio operator (changed to 2537, 0629, 0699/0691). It was probably the fastest promoting MOS around at the time, and I benefitted from a lot of good leaders looking out for me along the way. Of course, I couldn't have been that good, as I was fired and promoted to 1stSgt.

As far as my implication, you've got it. It's a young man's game and the only ones going AD are young, 1st termers. I'm in recruiting now, and we haven't been able to contract anyone except high-school and community-college aged kids. The PSR's are on a different sheet of music and I don't work with them much, but they have been able to work a couple of deals for people in similar situations. Mind you, sometimes one district can write contracts that others can't, but I haven't heard of any 35 year olds going AD. Best of luck...

Thanks. lol. I leave for boot camp June 21st. Mos is Motor T.
  4. Yeah, I have talked to one. I went as far as to call Sgt. Maj. Frisbie at Parris Island. He is the Command Sgt. Maj. for the 6th Marine Corps Recruiting District. He in turn gave me some numbers and contacts. Tomorrow I am calling a prior service recruiter I spoke with earlier in the week. Wish me luck!

Hey Check with a prior service recruiter he should be able to help, The regular recruiters won't be of much help. The constructive age cut off is 32 and you are still within range at the moment but if you are about to turn 39 yrs old you will be out of the age range. With the 6 years prior service the Marine corps sees you as 32 yrs old.
