Flight school is 2 years and you have to be an officer.

You signed up for AM and you want to work on helos? AM works on the mainframe and chassis, not on the engines and the electrical systems. If you want to fly and be an engline mech, your best bet would be AG (crew chief). Crew chiefs are basically flight line engine mechs, but they also fly. Logging flight time (flight pay is sweet too) will help you become a pilot down the road.

If you want to work on electrical systems, go aviation electrician, and from there go "O" or "AE" level in your MOS school.

you should do crew chief then. thats a helo mech and your get to shoot the guns on the sides or back of the helo. usually its a fifty cal or a chain gun, sometimes a m240
