I'm not sure if the Corps would require you to wear the red tag on your chain in boot camp, but definetly track down a newly graduated Marine on the site (there's plenty of them) and see if they can give you a definite answer.

You get the respect you earn by your actions. That being said, yes there is an inherent amount of respect initially given to Mustangs. But it is a double-edged sword because if abused, it will QUICKLY be turned from respect to despisement.

There are many paths to commissioning from the enlisted ranks. Some go through OCS, others do not. You will need to find the one that works for you and pursue it.

Nah, if I'm at a barber that knows Marine Corps regulations I just say "medium reg". If not, I just tell em to follow the fade that's already there as a guideline of where to cut. I don't get low regs anymore, but if I wanted one I'd just ask for "low reg" or "low regulation", etc.

Make sure you go to those poolee chat's on Sunday's at 2100 EST. They ask a lot of good questions and quiz eachother on knowledge that you'll need to know in bootcamp.
