sir, I just realized... your rank and such is misleading... here I thought you were O-1 in the Corps... you should update your profile to better reflect the fact that you are in the NG right now.

I grew up in the hills, moved to Pleasant Hill at 19 (who can afford the hills anyway!), spent 8 months in Orinda, and 5 years off Fruitvale. Do you ever go back? How did you end up so far from home?
I get nostalgic for GSE whenever I fly and get a window seat, watching the ground crew use all that gear I know so well. Strangely GSE doesn't get paid much as civilians.
  3. Morning Steve,
Thank you for your Service, Sacrifice and your Friendship.
Good Health always to you and your Family.

You are correct, OCS would take the place of WTC... there is nothing wrong with NG... I like the idea of being a citizen soldier... it satisfy a desire to serve my community... my country... while having a civilian job that pays well.

Thanx for contacting me... About the Army National Guard depending how long you've been out you might have to go to WTC (Warrior Training College), which is basicly a re-fresher for prior service. Expect far less discipline than the Marines... My NG unit is very very laid back... almost seems like its a fraternity more than anything else.

Yea I was also laid off from Shaw Industries. Being laid off is why I was unable to get another car but everything happens for a reason. It was good hearing from you and best of luck to you with the National Guard hope everything works out for you.

More motivated than ever sir. On the 25th of this month I will have not just the required 15 college credits but an additional 5 credits. I lost my car because my lease ran out and i cant afford another car at this time, so ive been walking 6miles to get to school and six miles to get back home Mon-Fri. I'm determined to become a Marine no matter what the cost. So, how have you been lately?

We've only lost one before and that tore a big rift between us for a while. We recovered from it and this one is proceeding quite well. She's healthy, baby's healthy.

This process is one thing; I can't imaging having to go out and start the adoption process.

Of course I say right now that I'll let the boy be a boy and go out and get into trouble but sure as sh!t I doubt that'll happen. I'll be smothering him until I learn better, no matter how macho I try to sound.

    Semper Fi and God bless.
