Chronology of my four years
Enlisted 4 April 1965 Sacramento and sworn in at Oakland Caif. under the delayed program. Boot Camp MCRD Platoon 241. 23 June 1965 to 09 Sept 12 weeks. ITR C/P San Onofre Co F 2 Bn 10 Sept to 12 Oct 4 weeks 4 days.then 20 days leave. Back to CP for Staging Battalion left 25 Nov from El Toro to Okinawa camp Schwab H&S 3rd FSR Comm Co. School trained MOS 2511 wireman also trained for a 5 ton driver license. Oct 6 1966 left for Vietnam to be part of the 11 Marine Regiment @ Hill 35 about 10 miles north of Chu Lai (An Tan). Feb move to E battery 2/11 at An Hoa artillery fire support for 2/5. 10 Nov 67 rotated back to world CONUS station with Headquarters Company Cadre 4th Marine Division Headquarters Nucleus Camp Pendleton 4 April 1969 discharged as Sergeant


The 4th Marine Division was reactivated as the lead division in the Marine Corps Reserve. On 16 February 1966, a headquarters nucleus of the Division was reactivated at Camp Pendleton and its colors
