Took a lotta secrets out of Japan myself..

I think the uss juneau was in one of our westpacs.I miss Japan also,especially well you know.Those are secrets ha ha. SF

I went in right after Vietnam(1975) and got outright after the Iran Hostage crisis started(1979). Lots of training and inspections of every kind. Did do a training op in 77(Fortress Lightning) LPD-10 USS Juneau. Still in touch with a couple of Marines from that op. Enjoyed my time in the Corps in Japan and SoCal.

How was the corps during your time? Sure do miss it from my end.

Hat's off to you "Pup" Who do you know not to get the Gate. Must be the civilian Guards doing it now. Just kidding Marine, they saw you zeroing in with the big gun in your photo. lol

Being in the Air Wing as an MP isnt so bad, the days are busy and the nights are "usually" quiet. I was lucky enough to never have to stand a gate and went straight to a road unit.

Hey Joe, I see you were involved in Operation Fortress Lightning, also. We were in during the same time. I was stationed at Camp Hansen in '77. In my 3 yr hitch I never made it to the East Coast (MCRD San Diego, 29 Palms, Okinawa, Camp Pendleton). I've got some photos around here somewhere with me wearing the khaki utilities. I loved that uniform, with all the starch, starched covers and spit-shined boots! Glad to call you friend!
