Combat History:

I was stationed on the Indy when Sadam crossed into Kuwait. We were on WESPAC and headed their immediately. We were to secure the embassy. We were ready to go but ended up standing down since the Rangers arrived. That about sums it up. I did cut my finger on an ammo can during this time. HA!HA!

Military Biography:

I joined up because a guy called me on the phone and set up a meeting. I met with the Marine in his Marine Corps Deltas. He was a nice guy that sold me the whole ball of wax. That was at the end of June. I wanted to be an airtraffic controller but that MOS was full (personally I think my ASVAB was to low) He talked me into infantry. He told me about living 100 feet from the beach on Okinawa. He told me about the pay and free meals. He could have stopped their because he had me at his Uniform. I was going nowhere in life so what the hell. I was all set to leave in May(10months away)I get a call about July 28th and am told that I could go on Aug 7th. I bit the bullet and went.... I went through all of the schooling and got stationed on the Independence. We pull up to the aircraft carrier at about 7 pm. I asked the corporal why we just didn't go to the barracks. He said that we were home and this will be our home for the next 2 years... Had a great time. It was like boot camp. Everything was spit and polish. Not like MCT where the cpls were ****birds. Every sailor on that ship respected us. When we hit the night life or a port, they all wanted to hang with us. All the chicks iin the ports wanted to hang with us. We were like rock stars. When Gunny Clifton made us all shave our heads (even our CO and XO:both captains)and grow mustaches we started noticing a lot of squids following suit. When it came to port, the ladies new who the real Marines were. (To all you young Marines, Sorry you won't get a chance to go to the P.I.) I met some great friends in the detachment whom I try to stay in contact with....Echo2/7 Where the **** did the spit and polish go. A lot of ****birds but a lot of them did fight in the Gulf and Mogadishu. That doesn't mean they can't put a hot rock over their cammies. Cold weather survival training was probably the best training I did. The skiing was awesome. Luckily we went towards the end of winter. That is probably why I liked it so much.
