Military Biography:

Colonel Spann served in the United States Marine Corps as a Sergeant. He joined the U.S. Army and was the Distinguished Military Graduate of his Officer Candidate School class at Fort Benning Georgia. Branched as Infantry he served in the California Army National Guard as an Infantry Platoon Leader Infantry Company Commander and a Mechanized Infantry Battalion Commander. In Iraq during OIF 2 to 3 he was the Senior Military Advisor to the Iraqi Special Police Commandos with the Multi National Security Transition Command Iraq. During OIF nine he was assigned as the Multi National Force Iraq Military Liaison Officer to the Iraqi Minister of Interior. He was inducted into the United States Army Officer Candidate School Hall of Fame at Fort Benning Georgia. During OEF 11 he served in Afghanistan as the Senior Advisor to the Afghan National Civil Order Police ANCOP under the NATO Training Mission Afghanistan Combined Security Transition Command Afghanistan.
