montford point.... FDR issued executive order 8802 which banned discrimination -- but not segreation -- in the military. it wasn't until june 1st 1942 the Corps began inducting black recruits... montford point used to be the Black boot camp until 1948 Harry S. Truman's executive order 9981 desegregated the military... though the Corps didn't follow said order until it was forced to in 1949 during the Korean war.

Later it was renamed after Sgt Maj. Gilbert "hashmark" Johnson, one of the first black recruits and drill instructors. The Marine Corps says it's the first military installation named after an African American.

I'm pretty sure it was still 3521 but I'll do some research on that.... if it was different then the whole numbering system has changed since then. Thanks for the history test!!!!!! YAM YAS!
