Yes, listen to them. Like I said, this was an FYI for those of us are already in and those who were planning to change their jobs to 03XX, this will affect them as well as the promotion tempo for the 03XX community. But it should come around in the near future -can't put a date on that. And that's a good sign that its closed out! That just shows that young devil pups like yourselvs are stepping up to take on the challenge of showing why we put this uniform on and smile when we do.... Because deep down we know we made a difference in somebody's life where ever they may be, and we just plain blood suckers waitin for a kill!! UUrah!

Well I have to dig some more out of my brain housing group. I'll have some shortly. Just have to organize thoughts. I want to hear some of you guys stories as well. Even if they are not grunt related. A laugh is always good to start the day... Sgt Q

I have a friend who enlisted in the army recently, another one of my friends is also thnking of joining the Military but he was having trouble to understand deciding what branch of military to go for right. So my army friend was giving this whole sales pich about how the army is the best branch in the whole military, i admire the people who serve no matter what branch they join. But this guy was sugar coating it. Anyway i was listening to him talk to him so i decided to walk by and talk to the kid, i said "hey, come with me so i took him to the local Marine recruiter and i referred him and got the promotion for reffering him" all i said was come with me. I let the recruiter work his magic. That made my day. Thats what you get for sugar coating it army

I heard the same for 0351 as well. I guess all that bonus money talked. Money is nice but when it runs out, we'll see who is a Marine at heart.

As for stories, I suppose the time I set my friend on fire was kind of amusing yet educational. Feb'06, manning ECP-5 guarding the way into Fallujah and we are burning trash "outside the wire." Another boot is raking a small smoldering pile of trash and I decide to liven our day by splashing some diesel on the fire. First of all, it was MoGas not diesel, and second my aim sucked. I got it on his arm AND the pile, and when his sleeve caught we thought it was hilarious until it wouldn't go out. Passing Iraqis found it amusing as well. I threw him to the ground and smothered the flame. I asked him before I let him up if he was going to beat my ass. He ended up being cool and covering for me-telling our seniors that he was clumsy and torched myself. He still reminds me of the incident every time I see him...
