Any Marine that can help. His son is sending for his SRB

Trying to locate: Gunnery Sergeant Clyde W. Farr
Branch of Service: Marine
Unit was:
Where served: His last tour was Phu Bai, in "I" Corps
When served: 3 different tours Message is: I am looking for any information I can find about my father, Gunnery Sergeant Clyde W. Farr. He did three tours in Vietnam. He was born in Roda Holler, Virginia, but his birth certificate, and the "place of birth" on any Marine Corps forms, may say Big Stone Gap, Virginia, because that's where the hospital was. He was married to Patricia M. Farr, nee Kiser. We were a Marine family, as I was born at Parris Island, even though my birth certificate says Beaufort Naval Hospital. My dad was a D.I. at the time (March, 1957), and my mom went into labor picking him up from work. I was delivered in the back of a field ambulance on Parris Island, then transported to Beaufort Naval Hospital.. At least this is what I've been told. Since my mom and dad are both gone, I have no way to interogate them about this, and, when they were alive, I didn't have the nerve to do so. In any case, my birth certificate says Beaufort Naval Hospital, which is Marine enough! My brother and baby sister were born at Cherry Point MCAS, and my middle sister was born at Iwekuni, Japan. So we were Marine through and through. Now that I am getting older, I'd like to know what my dad did in Vietnam. I know he set up the TRACON at Chu Lai in 1968, or at least that's what I was told. I do know his last tour created tremendous conflicts between him and my mom. Considering he had already done two (2) tours, he had to volunteer to go that final time. That was either '67 or '68. I seem to remember him leaving in '68. I do know he left from Dulles airport, it having only been open for a short while. Our family stayed in D.C. while he was gone, then moved back to Beaufort when he returned. I'm sorry, but that's pretty much all I remember. I was in a bad car wreck 4 years ago, and my memory is missing huge chunks. I would be EXTREMELY grateful for any information you might give me about my father. Pictures would be even MORE appreciated, but anything you can tell me would be so much more than any of us kids know currently. We have no idea what dad did in the Marines, and I'd love to be able to share his story with my brother and sisters, as well his grandchildren. I look forward to hearing from you, and I thank you, in advance, for ANYTHING you can tell me. Respectfully, Thomas Farr
