Was trying to figure out how many NJP's Chest Puller said it would take to be a "real Marine". Having a debate with one of my fellow NCO's.

I'm not sure becuse I've never read it but I have heard that it was 2 NJP's to be a "real Marine"

Chesty Puller said you are not a real marine until you get NJPd 2 times. My boot camp PLT revolved around that. nobody got NJPd but we tried hard. lol

I had one, with reduction from Sgt - Cpl Notice no star on my good cookie. But I got my Sgt. stripe back before I got out, I had 3 NAM's along the way - must have done something right, sometimes. Chesty rocks!

Chesty stated in his book,'Marine!', that he was prejudised against Reservist, Until Korea. He decided, that we were worthy of 'The Title', when he commanded us there. He said, we were real Marines. S/F!!! Ken
