  1. How's the prep work for boot camp going?
  2. That's great...congratulations! Thanks for the tip
  3. The best method that I found was HIIT(high intensity interval training). basically you full out sprint for a couple of minutes, then you jog for a few minutes, and you repeat that until you either can't run anymore or you reach about 30 or so minutes. And I was fat before, around 240 lbs. I originally wanted to lose weight because I wanted to impress a girl. When I got to my goal weight I decided that I could do something now that I was in good shape. So, i decided on the military. And if I was to go in, why not go for the best. So here I am now. 174 pounds and in the DEP.
  4. Any tips on bringing my time down? So, what made you decide to join the Marines?
  5. Well, I'm not too bad at running. I can get around an 11:08 on my IST, but I want to get down to 9 or less, mainly because I want to get the iron man award, after one of returning recruits told us about the guy that won it when he was in boot camp.
  6. I'm in the same boat w/ my PT. I'm horrible at running so thats the only thing I can't meet the minimum for but we have plenty of time to work on it.
  7. I'm going to PI as well. I'm shooting for either Recon or Security forces. I'm well qualified because of my ASVAB scores, 93 overall and a 127 GT. I just need to get my PFT score up. It's around a 207, but my goal is at least a 280.
  8. Yes, I'll be going to Parris Island. I'm trying to get a job in intel. My ASVAB scores already qualified me I just need to take the DLAP. What about you?
  9. Awesome! It's always nice to get to know future marines. You're going to MCRD Parris Island right? What MOS are you shooting for?
  10. Saw your ship date in your profile...I leave the same day!
