My Grandfather enlisted in the navy during WWII and served in the pacific. He never spoke of his service. Despite the branch he chose, he was a major force in my decision to become a Marine. He was a hard man from a hard time (Great Depression and WWII). He told me to join the Corps...that way I would never feel less than the best.
