Flight school is 2 years and you have to be an officer.

thank you for the info, I havent really signed up for AM yet because there arn't any jobs out ,until the next fiscal year. Do you have any ideas of how i would go about to become the pilot?

You signed up for AM and you want to work on helos? AM works on the mainframe and chassis, not on the engines and the electrical systems. If you want to fly and be an engline mech, your best bet would be AG (crew chief). Crew chiefs are basically flight line engine mechs, but they also fly. Logging flight time (flight pay is sweet too) will help you become a pilot down the road.

If you want to work on electrical systems, go aviation electrician, and from there go "O" or "AE" level in your MOS school.
