  2. more marines in walmart

So last sunday my friend and I were doing some shopping in the old walmart on western blvd and saw cammies from afar. At first I figured they were ROTC until I saw the red patch below the cargo pocket as well as on their covers they were carrying.
#1 THEY WERE OBVIOUSLY FLEET MARINES.
#2 redpatchers(embark actually) in walmart.. wtf were they doing in walmart?? There are multiple bases in this town so it was obvious that they could have changed. Also if they just came back from deployment ...

  3. Help me get back in

This is another re-enlistment question for old people. I am 39 years old now and have three children, one a Marine and the other two are seniors in High School. I served on active duty for 7 years and 6 months (88-96) and was honorably discharged as a Sgt (0431 Embark). I loved deploying and being a Marine, but thought it was best for my children to step out at that time, with the intention of possible returning once they were grown. Now they are and I'm ready to return. There is a MCO that ...

  7. no more flying

So i got in a pretty nasty car crash in october. My left knee is messed up in a bad way. I can only bend it about 40 degrees without agonizing pain, and i walk with a terrible limp.

My MOS is a crew chief, so i can't do my job which is horribly depressing, and don't know if i will be able to again.

The Doc's are saying probably more surgery coming up. I haven't run a pft since march either. Does anyone know how long the corp gives you to heal before they deem you worthless ...

  8. Why I joined the Marine Corps

Well, I figured I would just post one of these as well.

When I was 7 years old, my mother and I moved to Oceanside California to live w/ my sister and her husband. My brother-in-law was a Marine. I used to see him go to work and come home every day in his cammies. Also going to a grocery store and seeing someone in cammies looked unbelieveable to me at the time and had made me look at them in awe saying to myself one day I will do that. My senior year of high school, I was ...

  11. motivation

I absolutely love sitting in supply for 26 hours just in case a bird goes down during a 96 when every squadron is shut down.

I love the SSGT telling me that I need to deliver the gear to the SDC when the SQN MGYSGT says, "WE WILL NOT ACCEPT IT! WAIT FOR CONTROL TO OPEN ON FRIDAY." Then to tell the MGYSGT, "OKAY THEN CALL MY SSGT!!!"

I love 26 hours of googling... Even though you can only google about 12 things...

I love being told that ...

  12. Marine Biker

A Harley biker is riding by the zoo in Washington, DC when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion's cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the cuff of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents.

The biker jumps off his Harley, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch.

  15. Leadership

Is it simply a trait that is inherently granted? Or is it a skill that must be learned and mastered before it actually becomes anything worthwhile? Before answering this question with the answers provided; consider another question first. Why can’t it be both?
Granted, some people are born with a gift to lead others, but it doesn’t mean that they always do it the right way. They may have the ability to work others over with their elegant way of wording things, but lack the authoritative ...
