Corpsman killed by IED in Helmand province

Hospitalman Edwin Gonzalez, 22, died Friday serving with 1st Battalion, 8th Marines, in Helmand Province, according to a Marine Corps press release.

Gonzalez is a native of North Miami Beach, Fla., and is survived by his wife.

He joined the Navy in April 2007.
