Rest in Peace ...Marine

"After the funeral, Phillips wife and his two sons, ages 2 and 7 stood next to the casket, where the boys kissed their father's forehead."

May his wife and two boys find peace as well

I heard about that incident and I live relatively close to the scene but I wasn't aware the police officer was a Marine. That's horrible.

RIP

Greenfield Police Chief John Jester spoke at length about Phillips, struggling to hold back tears and stopping many times as he recalled first meeting Phillips. <table class="clkImgTbl" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="240"><tbody><tr><td valign="top"><table border="0" cellpadding="8" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td valign="top">

"I remember telling him one day, 'You have an opinion on everything,'" Jester said. "He looked at me and plainly said, 'I'm a Marine.' Not having been in the military, I figured he knew what he was talking about, but I said to myself, 'This guy's a cop.'"
