I'm trying to find the purpose of a piece of hardware that is marked USMC, 1 1/2 PT. CEMENT POT. Someone sent me the photos so I don't have the item in my possession. Here are some photoshttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v80/harnett65/Album11/Tmp0000B.jpg

Please let me know if you recognize it or know how it was used.

Thanks for taking a look.

Upon closer inspection, you may be onto something there, someone had emailed me the photos and I took his word for what was marked on the device. What I was told was USMC could be USMS, if so I guess I won't find any answers here. Thanks for the reply.

You might be surprised who knows what at this place when it comes to metallic objects. Especially Slinger.

Don't know what it is, but I see a Lava Lamp behind it.

While I can't see it, it's quite possible the "USMC" you are *thinking* of is not *our* "USMC". USMC also stands for "United States Metal Corporation".

Something to consider.

Also United Shoe Machinery Corporation, which made machines for making shoes. http://www.cummings.com/timages/usm_cat.jpg
