Just got in tonight. My cousin SSGT Garrett(2/8 Lejune 0369) graduated from DI school weds. Very impressive and motivating! The school was very tough and the class was basically treated like recruits again to get back into the swing of things. Just seeing his new demeanor and bearing is unreal. It really shows that DI school trains our best to make Marines.
He has 30 days leave then goes to MAI (martial arts instructor course) which is his quota. Once he is back from that he check into 3rd BN Mike CO as a kill hat!
The island was awesome, I hit the px and got me some uniforms and gear. I met his best friend growing up who is also a DI (now a Chief Gunny)-which us older guys used to call the series Gny SGT(they are now called chiefs. Good times and I will post up the few photos I took later! S/F
