Has anyone ever augmented from the IRR to do a deployment? I did a search but didn't come up with any info. I have talked to the PSR and he tried to just talk me out of it, but i have to call back tomorrow, anyone have any other info i may find useful?

I don't know about the AD side but if you know of a nearby Reserve Unit about to Mobilize, you can go speak to their career planner and he/she will tell you what to do
My unit is mobilizing in two weeks and we've picked up at least a dozen Marines from the IRR in the last 60-90 days

I assist the Deployment Processing Command at Camp Lejeune in processing IRR reservist IMA's for forward deployment quite frequently. Go to the MOBCOM website below, or contact Sgt Baker at (910) 451-1023 at the DPC to see if he can point you in the right direction.
