Marine On Survivor Show

Does anyone know if a Marine Corps reservist can apply to be on survivor, or any other TV show? What about active duty Marines? Would it be up to my command to let me participate if I was selected? Just trying to get some information before I start on the 21-page applications.

You need to notify your command before making any major life changes. This one would especially need approval since you are a US Marine wanting to appear on a nationally televised show.
