Okay I think I may have cheated this... But I watched this movie.. Well.. Documentary that followed a recruit class from week one to the day after graduating from San Diego. It doesnt show the good stuff of boot camp but more so the stresses in it. I believe it was a good watch. So check it out, "Ears, Open. Eyeballs, Click". <---- thats the name of the movie

I own it, and "EOEC, Chapter 1: Receiving". Both are great, but definitely a very real, fly-on-the-wall type of documentary. When Drill Instructors are in front of cameras, they hold back a bit (especially in the "Making Marines" documentary, but it's still good) but for the most-part, it's a no-holds-barred account of Marine Corps boot camp at San Diego.

Might as well watch it if you haven't so that you have some idea of what you're in for. It may make it just a little bit less of a shock to some people, but not much.

Agreed. It was kinda funny that some of the instructors would like say the first half of a curse word & flip it into another word. "WHAT THE FUU-REEEEEEEAK IS THIS?!" LoL

Very motivational movie....Just the beginning really gets you excited to be on that bus one day...Also when that guide kept failing at the monkey bars, screaming, and retrying over and over again, priceless. I really liked how it didn't focus on the physical parts of bootcamp, but the mental parts.

I agree with you too! Most people before boot camp from what I see is that they full pay attention to the physical aspects of not knowing the mind games. You have to prepare your self mental, not only physically.

Ya love that too, plus the first time they do it if you pay attention the one Drill Instructor is teaching them how to do it, then they finish and the other Drill Instructor runs out of the office and flips it. Haha

Thats a great documentary, my parents watched it to see what boot camp was going to be like. The entire first part is my favorite, especially the flipped over rack part haha

Lol, i think that if parents want to know what its like in boot camp... it would be best to show them that.. watered down a lot so they dont freak!

The producers of Ears Open Eyeballs Click had planned to break down the phases into "chapters", but the only one that they've released so far is "Ears, Open. Eyeballs, Click. Chapter 1: Receiving". The entire doc is just about the first week, and exactly what it's like.

I sent an email out to SDI Nichols but he said that he's still waiting to hear from the director of the film as to whether or not Chapter 2 will actually be released. It was supposed to be released this past spring. I bought it off the website, if you're interested. I think you can find it on SDI Nichols', Canaan Brumley's, and United Independent Media's website.

This should be the site for the video series itself.
