I did a hitch in the Army Reserves, compared to the Marines I found it lacking.

I did a hitch in the army,NOT even close to my USMC.My hitch was in intelligence in preperation for another assignment of the Govt.and guess what?It had less---than yhe USMC.Discipline,courage,honor,fitness,and more.

I have spent more time in the Army than I have in the Corps. And I will tell you this. They couldn't plan a one-man parade if you gave them a weeks notice. The Army is more screwed up than a soup sandwich. I have more loyalty to the corps than to the Army. I have worked in their Operations area and they can't plan %^$#. It’s more like disaster response. They are so caught up with their Hollywood image that they can't see straight. And what about that Faggot hat we wear? Didn't Europe lose 2 out of 2 Wars in there own back yard?

I made the mistake of joining the Army Guard. Yeah, it was a lot of fun to put the utilities (oops.. BDUs) back on and hump a 60 (the guard here still has a few...) but the lack of commitment and discipline was pretty sorry. After the first few drills I was ready to quit but Marine training took over and I worked at trying to motivate people and be the epitome of an NCO. After all, I am a Marine and I didn't want anyone to see me quit, especially the younger grunts in the unit. As in most Guard units, too many chiefs and not enough Indians so my training requests and suggestions fell on deaf ears. After two years, I let my enlistment lapse and got out. I wish now that I had stayed in the Marine Reserves after active duty instead of going IRR after 18 months.

6 yrs in the US Navy. 4 yrs USMC. Navy discipline is lacking(putting it mildly).
Comradrie and loyalty unheard of, in comparison to the Corps.
