View Full Version : Not enough obligated service left to lat move?

I want to lat move from 0341 to another MOS that has a lower cutting score. I have 17 months to EAS and I have to pick up Sgt before then (2nd enlistment, demoted in March of 09), otherwise I can't stay in. All the MOS' that have these lower cutting scores require you have 24-48 months of obligated service left and obviously I don't have that. I'd like to re-enlist, but will they let me re-enlist and lat move without getting promoted first? My career planner doesn't even know.

Well since you have 17 months left they should let you go ahead and reenlist after your package for a lateral move is signed off on by your command and if there are spots available. The extra 24 to what ever months is for the mos school you would be going to and your new enlistment would be for you to atually be able to work in your new field.

That would have been my suggestion as well. Give the extension option a shot.
If you want an MOS with a decent cutting score needing ppl honestly mine lol 6842 we have grunts come over fairly often most i talk to hated it in school lol.
