My backround:

I am currently a Law Enforcement Officer, with a department in Southern Florida. I have always wanted to serve my country in the Military but due to various circumstances I have not up to this point. I am 22 YOA, and I am looking into enlisting, as a Reservist.

My MOS of choice, would be 0211 Counterintelligence specialist, as I believe this would fit me best as I have approx. 4 years of undercover experience and intelligence/investigation gathering.

I qualify for the security clearance as I have prior with other federal agencies.

I WANT to get deployed.

My questions:

Is 0211 offered on the Reserve side? How long is the training? Would a 4 year contract be enough to get trained and deployed? What are the requirements for 0211?

Thank you for your service and any help is appreciated.

Also from what I understand, 0211 is only a Lateral Transfer? So what would be my quickest most direct path there?

You are correct. 0211 is a lateral only. You need to be an NCO to move and they prefer Sergeants. It doesn't matter what MOS you had before, although another intel MOS would be helpful. So a single four-year contract will probably not work.

I know CI used to have reserve slots, but I don't know if this is true any more.

Thank you, I'll talk to a reserve recruiter and find out if they have slots. thank you.
