It is a good feeling to find things that you mothballed years ago
and forgot about.
I have an old Buck 112 that my Grand Father got for me when I was 14.
That knife, after boot of course, has been some places.
I carried it my entire enlistment and after I got out for a time.
Stuck it in a box with a bunch of other old stuff and there it
stayed for many moons.
Got to looking through stuff the other day when I had some
alone time and what did I find? Yep, still razor sharp.
Think I'm gonna start carrying it on my belt again like back in the day.
It's just comfortable and useful for everything that needs cutting.

The New Orleans was one step up from a prison ship. The troop berthing truly sucked, hot and the smell of the worst gagging hot oil, and we were crammed in. The food wasn't very good, and even though we had assigned chow shifts we always ended up waiting for 45 minutes.

I was on the Alamo later and it was a good ship.

Yessir, one step up was about it for the Frederick too.
I'll never forget the berthing and the head was horrible.
Hot, to close and funky all the time.
I never got to float on any other ships and at the time I was glad.
Now I wish I had been on more.
