Any marines here smoke bud on leave or whatever? Or do they do random drug tests?
for example after a deployment, just sittin back and blazing on leave, would you be hassled after you get back?

When using the word Marines, it will be capitalized at all times, and if you're asking this question, then you're doing something you shouldn't be doing now.
Yes, they do do drug tests, and if you get caught, kiss your military career goodbye....period.

How about in the reserves? I was smoking with a bunch of infantry marines a couple months ago so I'd thought I ask.
are you seriously asking this? you recruiter obviously didnt tell you bot the Corps ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY! We do random tests and inspections through your barracks rooms and yes can come to your house if married. when caught and you will you WILL be kicked out. So iff your planning on it do us a favor and dont bother going to boot, we dont need any more sh!theads!

Well I was smoking with other Marines not too long ago, all of them Infantry, OIF vets, so I'd thought maybe it wasn't a big deal in the Marine Corps.
And No, he didn't tell me about that. I will be enlisting in the Reserves.

Perhaps I am wrong.... but don't you really know the answer to this question without asking? Is it acceptable in the school system? Is it acceptable to the general public? Is it acceptable to your family?
Yes...some people smoke it. People yes.... Marines no. Because as soon as they are caught.... they are removed...excised.... pitched out. Simply they were posers who wore the uniform but they were NEVER Marines.
I would suggest you think long and hard on your decision to join the Marines. If you want to smoke buds... find a place where you won't be disturbed and smoke yourself into a haze.

Sure its illegal, I know that, and of course its going to be illegal in the Marine Corps, I was just wondering if its easy to get away with, thats all.

Marines, don't even bothering lecturing this kid, because that's all he is, is a kid. He's not worth taking up any more bandwidth on this site than he already has.
He's just a smart aleck kid who has nothing better to do with his time than rile me up, along with all of the Marines here. It seems as though some get there jollies by doing this to me, and making fun of me. That's OK, though.
Kid, if you do decide to join the Marine Corps some day, I hope you get the meanest, bada$$ Drill Instructors that there can ever be, and that they make your life so miserable at MCRD, you'll regret that you ever thought of joining the Marine Corps.
