I just signed my contract for Aviation Operations and it had the listings of 7200/7300. I've done some research regarding the field prior to selecting my MOS but would like to hear firsthand from Marines who currently hold a position within these MOS's. What the school consists of? Deployment rate? Opportunity for moving up in rank? Options for stations? All input is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

7242-12 weeks in 29 palms, CA. right now mass-1 and mass-3 are rotating between each other each year. Right now promotions are closed out to CPL but it wont last forever. Cherry point, NC, Camp pendleton, CA, or Okinawa, japan.

Also, a more complete profile is a good thing. Thread will be re-opened when that task is accomplished.

I did my tour from 75-79. Parris Island, 29 Stumps and the MARTD MCAS EL TORO, CA. It was a good gig. I trained Reservists and maintained and operated the AN/TPQ -10, & THE AN/UYQ-3, & AN/TSQ 5/6. I really loved it when the Striker Controller gave "Mark Mark " to the flyboys. It's truly amazing what a 500 lb GP. can do to old mobile armor. Used to sit the TAR net in the DASC. Good duty at El Toro.

Enjoy the MOS, it can be a lot of fun, and it's important to the Grunts.

Are they still importing most of the S/Sgt and above?

If so, are they still too scared to actually be in the system?

I guess things dont change :bunny:. Most of our SNCOs arent lat movers but a good chunk of the NCOs are. Most I know arent scared to be in the system but I definitely know what you are talking about. Magical medical, etc. appoints every time the word "dasc drill" or "wti" are spoken haha.
