Truly enjoyed my time in the Fleet, just missed Granada while I was in Bootcamp.
Once at Camp Pendleton, Our Company was assigned to work out the bugs and create a training for the rest of the Corps to follow, thus creating the NEW Raider's package for Infantry units. We got to do a lot of high speed low drag stuff that normally was reserved for Recon and Sniper platoons, but we pulled it all together and added 11-15 additional missions to the Marine Infantry Bag of goodies!
I was serving along side Marines, Seals, and the like and we worked hard so our future Marine Fighters had all the kinks worked out.

Haven't finished reading all these. There are 86 bloody pages!

PI plt 1090 graduated 12-24-81 best Christmas present 'til wife #3 and kids and grandkids. They are here right now fo the weekend.

MCCES, MAGCC 29 Palms Graduated 2811... 1982 Had fleet orders don't remember exact unit had to hand them down to be sent for additional MOS. My roommate got my orders and died in my place 10-23-83 in Beirut.

I believ it TAD to a USMC unit @ Ft. Sill, OK... TDY to Sheppard AFB, TX Graduated add 2813... 1983

MWCS-18... '83-'84 Where I got to go to NCO school @ Camp Kin, can't remember the new Camp name. Also got to tour most of ROK to include Pusan, Po-hang, Paghinsan(sp), Taqsakri(sp), R-228 on the DMZ. They used shoot at the dishes and comm vans regularly. And a couple things can't talk about still.

Back to the Stumps '84-'85... TCMU, Hq, MCCES, MAGCC. Where I fixed all the crap the students and instructors broke in the schools. Brought that little telephone shop to 5th Echelon. Also had occasionally go to the field and support a few units in the sand. Some of that equipment was 20 degrees above tolerance. Couldn't be fixed and some should have blown up.

Any way back to topic... Out 10-4-85 four days after I was to be promoted to Sgt. never saw it.

I think that's most of it.

Bob "Lazydog" Webster Cpl. Former and Always

17 when I went in, shouldn't have left, still don't know how to a civilian.

Semper Fi forever and a day!

Semper fi my marine comrades. Spent the best tour of my career in Oki, 1st MAW, 10/82 to 11/83. Attahced to MASSII and MATCS 18, spent many days running the flight line and watching out for the dreaded habu. Nasty nasty beast that damn snake.

Anyway, best to all of you

Entered MCRD, San Diego on my 18th Birthday, 1966
Plt: 3332 Graduated Honor Platoon, Sr. Drill Inst. SSgt. Brennen. We were his last boot platoon.
ITR @ Camp Pendelton, then off to see the world, Viet Nam.
Charlie Co.1/7 fist squad. Caught a sniper round in my left arm on the 8th of May 1967, spent the rest of that year at Great Lakes. Always wondered, how can you train Sailors, without any Ships! Pulled duty as a Brig chaser for First SGT. McFarland. Received orders for Iowa City VA Hosp.
and began rebuilding my hand and arm. Took a Med. Retirement on 4/01/1970.
I sill miss watching the "Boot Sailors" standing guard, with a wooden rifle, of a Dempsy Dumster! That must have been their SHIP!
