Stopped at Blockbuster and the first disc from "Pacific" is a free rental, at least at the local store. Haven't watched it yet but the reviews have been good.

I'll tell you right now it is a good show. Watched 3-4 episodes already. Just need better internet to watch the rest.

Yes without a doubt they are. And I loved the early episodes. A review I read said the same thing. But I did not believe it since I was hooked from the start.
But when young Joe takes over and it becomes more and more about EB Sledge the series goes to another level. The combat scenes also-----they will floor you. They become more and more intense.
