FTAP Re-Enlistment

Well upon personal reflection and mental trepidation I have deecided to Re-up.

I started my package and so far things have been smooth. My command has been very supportive, from my NCOIC through my OIC all the way to my COS. Now the only problem I am having is that I want to take full advantage of my choice of Duty Statiion... however I don't knwo exactly where I want to go.

I do know the things I want to do, they are things I have yet been able to do in my first term. They are; get on a MEU, Get an Afgan deployment, become a MAIT for MCMAP. Those are some of the major things I am looking for that I feel would benefit me; also things I would enjoy.

I am looking at trying to replace my buddy Sgt Edgerton at 1st ANGLICO possibly however with my rotation date form Europe compared to his it may leave too large of a gap. As a wierd option a buddy of mine has got me interested at the possibility of I&I duty... however I would not get to do any of the before mentioned things.

Really I guess I am asking my fellow Marines for ideas of awsome duty stations. Keep in mind I spent my entire first enlistment overseas... and don't have divk to show for it. Always fell short of getting the GWOTE,Korean Def, NATO ....etc

So I am deffinitly looking for something stateside (CONUS). I've had enough COT (consecutive overseas travel).

Some things to consider...

First Class PFT / CFT
Cpl (Sgt next quarter most likely)
4 years down w/ a 5 year contract.
No NJPs/Courts Martial
I do have a quarter sleeve tattoo on my left arm, and two tats on either forarm. So I have been told Recruiting/MSG is out.
I have all required PME.
Brown Belt in MCMAP <-- want to get the black so I can go MAIT

So please to those who are still in and those who came before, share your experiences and recommendations for good duty stations.

Gunny Lybrand works on Kelly. He lives walking distance from me here on Robinson. Gunny wolfinger works on patch. I'm not sure where he lives. Might be out in town.

Did you do the PME to belleau wood this year? You have at least encountered them I'm sure. I worked a couple years in the food court at panzer so I'll bet we have met too.

Which shop did you work on panzer? ... Charlies, Pop-Eyes, or Pizza Hut? I doubt it was Sennes lol

UUUM If he's on Patch he's probably with EUCOM or AFRICOM I'm w/ MARFOREUR on panzer so I doubt i've met him...unless we passed in the shoppete on patch. There arn't many Marines here lol

No I didn't go to the PME, all the slots were taken by ppl senior and their wives/dependants.

You may have met Master guns franklin. He's rotated out now but was the boss at the Mar Det on Panzer. He was my gunny at Quantico.

Gunny Dawson worked there too in personnel. I think he rotated back to pendleton but you may have met him.

There is a retired CWO that works there and even though we have been friends for a couple years I do not know his last name. I always just called him Curt.

You have to become a instructor first, the tan tab. I would recomend getting that at the brown belt stage, then getting your black belt. Then you can become an IT when you get promoted to Sgt.
