PORTLAND -- The Sherwood football program is honoring a former player killed in Iraq.
Marine Capt. Aaron Contreras died March 30 in a helicopter crash in Southern Iraq.
The "Bowman Family" will gather Friday night at Sherwood High School to retire No. 28, worn by Contreras and his four brothers.
The "Bowman Family" concept developed during his high school years, stressing that everyone on the team was part of a family.
