Memorial Day - May 31, 2010

Acknowledging the sacrifices of deaths and wounds of our military people.
Is this tribute sufficient? We can't bring them back.

Is this why Americans are willing to go to war? Since it was done by committed persons - what worthy 'cause' draws us willingly into combat and death? Medals and words of thanks and tributes??? No.

We were 'the good guys.' All American Values are based on the unique Individual person. You are unique in world history. "YOU ARE A ONE-OF-A-KIND." Individuals are the only kind of humans there are. (Groups/collectives are merely
verbal conveniences - not Reality.)

Some of us are already seeing not only our next generation and their children but even a third generation on our horizon. Each one needs to hear your and my sense of value of each indivdual that caused us to be willing to risk death and injury for their sakes.

Unborn, they were included in our causal priority. Today's future generations also count! Our ancestors did it for us. We must do it for the 'as yet unborn.' We require them to be responsible. Yet, they cannot live Responsibilty at any higher level than their own sense of self-value. Inferiority is a zero! Tell 'em "You are valuable!"

If we surviving veterans in each generation are silent, we will have wasted our obligation and our responsibility to those who have gone ahead. "Speak up!" Tell those younger than you..."You were worth it! YOU ARE WORTHY!" They were and are our priority! Their coming life has given our lives meaning and value. This is your challenging obligation in behalf of those who gave their lives... In this venue, there is no virtue in silence. I challenge you: Speak to our posterity in worthy respect and worthy love. Make it Count! For all...
