...than finding out you picked up, but you have wait for the slow ass CO to decide when he wants to hold a formation so you can get pinned on. Especially when you are about to pick up something like CO. I remembered I got promoted while on ship...and it took forever for the flight deck to open up for a formation because they were doing Flight OPs non-stop and when they were doing Flight OPs, our CO was being a lazy ass.
