<!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->The key is to establish a connection, sometimes easy, sometimes not. Remember, FPO addresses are confidential not only to protect personal privacy, but for OPSEC.

Emails to all five ANGLICOs over the past year failed to establish a connection. But after ANGLICO Assn reunion men attended the 1st ANGLICO change of command ceremony last Nov the connection was firmly established, with the past and current CO's now active on the ANGLICO forum.

Next, the CO now fighting in Helmand canvassed his widely disbursed teams regarding what they would most appreciate. Then the Assn lended it's tax-exempt status to the big effort, but lots of individuals have begun to ship items and letters directly.

In just a few weeks, the project is providing significant support! MarineParents.com has great tips for shipping and customs forms. I found the new USPS flat rate program convenient and reasonable for FPO shipments.

This is a great way to support Marines in harm's way, and foster comradery among your unit and your unit's organization.

One more thing - Facebook connects with more of the younger crowd. So I put up a "Lightning from the Sky" Group there and announced the support Mission. Within a day the past CO jumped on it, and then lots of young veterans followed his lead.

This can work for your unit as well!
