My Girlfriend is about to commission and I'm looking for a good gift idea..preferably something that will be useful for TBS. Any ideas from Marines who have been through it? male or female. She's pretty hardcore and practical. Is there any gear/equipment that would be useful (but not make it too easy on her :D ) and can be purchased by a civilian?

The one thing I used the most back when I was an enlisted Marine was the watch I bought as soon as I got to 29 Plams for my school.
I bought one of those Casio G-Shocks and it stood up to the pounding it got. A real pounding. More than that, it did everything. Alarm functions, times in different areas, it even was my flashlight in the field to find my real flashlight when I woke up.
Something like that, in a style that a girl can wear, would be perfect.

...and for the record, the wife is the same woman as my girlfriend. And yes I only have one :) we're just a bit on the special side.
