I'm sure glad they finally will be giving him his due. Helmet is one of the books that motivated me to drop out of the 10th grade in 65, join the Corps and volunteer for the Nam. Lucky and the Marines of that time were the original good/bad guys.

John Basilone is also from your neck of the woods (Raritan, NJ). Basilone is one of my favorite Marines. He served in GTMO almost 40 years before me.
Basilone is featured in the upcoming HBO series "The Pacific"

We seem to get alot of Joisey guys in the Corps--or maybe we just have real big mouths?

our Marine Corps League detachment marches in the parade every year a good time is had by all maybe ill see you in september wait that dont sound to good lol
