I'm new the the forum and haven't been able to find any information on my particular question. I've found lots of good info from ThreeEleven0861, but not quite what i was looking for. Anyway....
I'm a Sergeant coming off of MSG duty and I'm looking to lat move to 0861, assuming my package is approved. I'm wondering what it would be like for a Sergeant to lat move into this MOS? Would I be in the field getting my hands dirty with the rest of them (stateside and deployed) or would I get stuck behind a desk in the S-3 shop because I have zero experience in the MOS besides the school?
I know it all boils down to what is needed in the MOS at the time, but I was wondering if anyone out there could give me a little inside information as to what a Sgt's role is in this MOS. Have any of you had a Sgt lat move to your unit and if so, what are they doing?
I appreciate any information you can give me. If There is already a post about this, can you direct me to it?
