A question about choosing an MOS...

I'm 17, and haven't signed up for the Corps yet, but I plan to do so here in the next few months when I turn 18. My question though, is should I sign up for infantry? I had originally had my MOS set to be a metal worker, because I do a lot of welding and metal work as of right now. Plus I think it would help me out once I get out (As far as finding a job).
I'm considering infantry (Machine gunner) though, because I want to be where the action is, to be perfectly honest. I also don't really wanna be called a pansy for not doing it either.
If I could get some input regarding this it would be much appreciated.

From what has been said on the site it looks like infantry is full until Oct. but your best bet would be to talk to your recruiter, Good Luck.
